The German luxury car company, Audi has inaugurated the new production plant in Mexico to develop the upcoming Audi Q5 SUV. The Mexico production plant will have the production capacity of 1lakh fifty thousand cars (1,50,000) in a year. The manufacturing facility was located nearby to the central city of Puebla.
The production facility will manufacture the company’s conventional gasoline-powered models of the upcoming SUVs. Later, it will roll out the electric models (greener models). On the occasion of the new plant inauguration, Rupert Stadler, Audi’s chief executive officer (CEO) said that we will bring the full electricity version of the Q5 SUV to Mexico. In the first phase, the company is expected to introduce the plug-in hybrid vehicles and later, it will completely concentrate on the SUV electric vehicles.
In fact, some of the reports have already indicated that Audi luxury brand will make the new Q5 electric version at the new plant. Now, the time comes and Audi has opened the Mexico plant with all facilities. Additionally, the Volkswagen Group’s luxury car brand has announced that the new factory will build the new sport utility vehicle that can drive in full electric mode.
