Diesel version of the Vitara Brezza has the successful market in the Indian automotive industry. Maruti Suzuki has overtaken Mahindra & Mahindra in the largest UV segment in India in the last two months, April and May 2017. This was the great success from the biggest player of small cars. Maruti has planning to expand its position and scope in the different passenger vehicle segments in the Indian market. In this part, just months back, it has introduced the hybrid and utility vehicles in the competitive domestic market to target the respective competitors. Now, the day comes and Maruti Suzuki has overtaken the India’s utility vehicle leader, Mahindra in the UV segment.

Maruti sold around 5,500 more utility vehicles than Mahindra in the first two months of this fiscal year. Mahindra listed 18,363 units and 19,331 units in April and May, whereas Maruti has listed 20,638 units and 22,608 units of sales in April and May 2017. The company’s cumulative sales stood at 43,246 units, against 37,694 units of Mahindra in the previous two months. In the last fiscal year, M&M has crossed Maruti by 20,000 units.

More demand of Maruti Ertiga and new Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki has received 45% growth in UV segment, whereas the UV market leader, Mahindra has enumerated a decline of 6%. The company’s officials said that the Vitara Brezza has to register 10,000 units of sales in a month and towards to place its company in new heights. On the other side, Mahindra’s new four sub-4metre SUVs, including Bolero Plus, Nuvo Sport, KUV 100 and TUV 300, not helped the company to register more volumes.

Moreover, due to the lack of petrol vehicles, Mahindra has reported a decline of sales in sub-4metre UV segment. Some of the external factors, including large diesel and SUVs ban in the biggest cities, influenced the company to hurt sales.

Apart from this, Mahindra has grown 3% in May 2017 with the sales of 41895 units of vehicles, compared to 40656 units in May 2016.
